Madness & A Day At The Races....

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

Not a lot of  crafting this week because I haven't been in the mood again.....but I have read another book....

Which I have forgotten to photograph....but was

The Driver's Seat by Muriel Stark...

So that's now 18 books read towards my 26 in 2019 Goodreads Challenge.....

On Friday we had a day out at the races at Market Rasen....

It was cold and windy but we still had a picnic...

This is what happened to the picnic blanket....they were frozen.

We placed bets and I drank gin.....

Celebrate or commiserate....

As you can see I'm the last of the big spenders....we did have some winners but more losers I'm afraid this time around.

It poured down....

There was a dress under there and I did have a hair do of some description at some point.....

After the picnic and the racing we trekked across the race course for this...

MADNESS

Despite the cold, the wind and the rain we had a fabulous time....

My hair was flat, my make up had run, my dress was plastered to my legs and my shoes were ruined.....

But we laughed, we danced, we sang at the tops of our voices and as my lovely husband said.....

'It was like being at the biggest school disco but everyone was forty years older'....

Suggs...

We had a fabulous day out.....

Not a lot of anything else to report this week....

Hopefully I can get myself together enough to get some crafting done....

I will check in again next Sunday....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Twickenham Stadium Tour....

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

No crafting this week because I haven't been in the mood.....but I have done quite a bit of reading.....

I have managed to read three books.....Yes.....3.....books in the last week.

To be honest I'd already started two of them so just had to finish them but that's another three books read towards my 26 in 2019 Goodreads Challenge.....

So that's now 17 books read.

I loved Casting Off....I was lucky enough to win this book in a give away by the lovely Jo Through The Keyhole I have now passed it on to my mum and then she will pass them on to our community library....

I haven't lost any weight recently but then again I haven't put any on either so I am still 10lbs less than I was this time last year.....I'll take that.....!

While we were away in London we went on a tour of Twickenham Stadium, home of my beloved England rugby team. This was a Christmas gift from my daughter's boyfriend....now what a very clever gift!!!!

All the times I have been to Twickenham for a match and I've never realised quite how big this fabulous statue is.....usually your trying to get a turn at getting your photo in front of it without anyone else in the shot......

The Tunnel....

Mr T gracing the Queen's seat....if she were to attend a match......

Goodness the luxury compared to the seats we normally sit in.....

The England dressing room....

Not quite sure about this photo to be honest but I think I was thinking that the next time we are here is in August for an England v Wales friendly match......

So that's it from me this week, hopefully I can get myself together enough to get some crafting done....

I will check in again next Sunday....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

My Chelsea Flower Show.....

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

I hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend......

No crafting or reading this week because we had a few days away.....

On Tuesday I was lucky enough to visit The Chelsea Flower Show once again....

I absolutely love the show, even the crowds.....it's lovely to see the delight the gardens bring to so many people and again this year the weather was kind.....

The gardens were stunning as always....

I took so many photos it's so hard to choose what to share....

But here is a little taste....

Garden Envy or Garden Aspirations....

A joy to see such beautiful planting....

Monty & Joe in The Yorkshire Garden....

Stunning Colour Combinations....

Mr Adam Frost....

Planting Envy here....

A Rare Photo Of  Me....

(I hate having my photo taken as I think I always look dreadful)

Lots Of  Ideas For Planting....

Waiting For Our Meal In The Rock Bank Restaurant....

(He looks as though he's about to read the news!!!!....)

So after a fabulous day....including the obligatory Pimms and ice creams we made our way back to the tube, very tired but very happy with a thousand ideas going around in my head.

I can't wait to do it all over again next year.....

Thank you Chelsea.....

I will check in again next Sunday....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....

Felting Workshops......

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

I hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend despite the weather.....

I haven't much to report this week other than myself, my mum and my daughter Brogan attended a felting workshop in Horncastle on Saturday and we had a lovely day with Claire at All Sewn Up by Debs.....

Who knew stabbing a piece of wool to make felt was so therapeutic????....

Here is the result of  my efforts though....

I'm really thrilled with my little felted friends....even though their ears are a little out of proportion.

I think I may have a new hobby!!!!....

No weight loss again this week.....I know I have no will power whatsoever but I really must try harder.....

I have acquired a lovely new book....

And I have read another book.

This is book No.14 read towards my 26 in 2019 Goodreads Challenge.....

I really did enjoy this book and plan to read a few more by this wonderful author.

I haven't picked up any knitting or sewing this week but I have spent a fair bit of time in the garden....

That's it for another weeks round up.....

I will check in again next Sunday....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....

Weekends Away & Flower Shows.....

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

I missed posting last week as we were in Whitby....

We had a lovely few days away and the weather was perfect....

Cheeky drinks in the

Micro Brewery

Pirate Ships

Walking along the beach to Sandsend....'My Happy Place'......

Guess who was over dressed for the weather.....

Lunch in Sandsend at my favourite pub with my favourite person and tipple....

Walks back to Whitby

It always takes us longer to walk back.....must be the wine!!!

And the fact I'm paddling back and taking pictures....

So there has been 'no' weight loss....'no' knitting, 'no' stitching done but there was a little reading....

This is book No.13 read towards my 26 in 2019 Goodreads Challenge.....so I am halfway there and it's only the end of April....

Yesterday we went to The Harrogate Spring Flower Show.....

It was very wet but we all had a lovely time and so much for me saying....

'I've only come to buy a couple of Auriculas'....

Ok...so I did buy a few other things but I will try and share these next week.....

So that's it for another weeks round up.....

I will check in again next Sunday....I promise....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

And So It Begins....

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all well.

I'm a bit late posting today as we have been to my parents for dinner.

Once again it has been a busy week and at last the 'Second' phase of our building work has started....

Mr pegged out the building plans last weekend and digging out has commenced.....

This is just one part....it also goes down the side of the bungalow where the inglenook fireplace will be...

These footings will now continue across in front of the kitchen and then another area of footings will be dug across the drive for the utility and wet room......

I am going to try and keep a record here of our progress......

Mr has also been very busy completing my new vegetable garden and garden paths....

He built raised planters for me to make it easier as I have suffered with Fibromyalgia for about seven years now and we think this will make my life a little easier....

The roll top bath was originally in one of our bathrooms but it is now home to the rhubarb....

Trellis, gates and paths built.....the bricks were saved when my parents took down the original coal house......The bungalow was originally my parents home but we bought it from them so they could have something smaller.....

New path along the bottom of the garden.....and the Mr's 'Sulking Room'.....I mean 'Office'......Pssst....there isn't a desk in there!!!!

He built this too.....!!!

It's a slow process this renovation thing but it's beginning to come together.....

I have not lost any weight this week or read any books but I have made a bit of headway on.....

The Spirit Of Christmas - Lavender & Lace

This was my starting point as of last Sunday....

And this is today....

I have also picked up my sock knitting and made some good progress this week.....

This is my first attempt at knitting socks so I am quite pleased with myself.....although I'm slow, I'm getting there with a tonne of help from the ladies at my local yarn shop.....

Thank you girls.......

So that's it for another weeks round up.....

I will check in again next Sunday....honest....

Until then have a lovely week.

Keep safe....
